l film sfrutta il meccanismo di un gioco da tavolo (il clue, appunto) popolarissimo in America, nel quale i partecipanti devono dimostrare acute capacità deduttive. Lo spettatore viene coinvolto e abilmente ingannato da tutta una serie di indizi che rendono difficile ed appassionante smascherare l'autore di alcuni delitti. Il film, impossibile da raccontare, è un perfetto meccanismo a orologeria, assai brillante e divertente.
